MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers have added one of their top minor-league pitchers to their major-league roster as the team looks to retool their pitching staff for the 2025 season.
According to MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy, Brewers 11th-ranked prospect RHP Logan Henderson has been added to the Brewers 40-man roster along with RHP Chad Patrick to avoid either prospect being claimed during the upcoming Rule 5 draft.
Henderson, 22, was the Brewers’ fourth-round pick in the 2021 MLB draft. While he struggled with injuries during much of his time in the minors, Henderson showed his ability to pitch at a high level during the 2024 season, climbing up to Triple-A Nashville by the end of the season. One of his major improvements since being drafted has been with his fastball, as his top speed was originally around 90 MPH, but in 2024 he was able to hit speeds as high as 96 MPH. His changeup has also excited scouts, as he had a minor-league high 44% CSW% (Called Strikes + Whiffs Rate) when throwing it in 2024, according to Baseball America.
The Brewers 2025 pitching rotation remains influx as the team expects former ace Brandon Woodruff to return from shoulder surgery that kept them out for the entire 2024 season, while former top prospect Robert Gasser is also likely to return from Tommy John surgery but could miss the start of the season, leaving the door open for Henderson or top prospect Jacob Misiorowski to make some major league starts.
