GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU)— The Green Bay Packers won a close one on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Chicago Bears 20-19.
Green Bay won due to another great performance by running back Josh Jacobs, who recorded 76 yards rushing and a touchdown along with 58 yards receiving against a Chicago defense that has been tough against opposing offenses throughout the first half of the season. Quarterback Jordan Love through the ball only 17 times, completing 13 for 261 yards with a touchdown rush and interception, which extended his streak with games with an interception to eight.
The star of the day for Green Bay was wide receiver Christian Watson, who recorded four receptions for 150 yards, which marked a career game for Watson, breaking his previous record high of 110 yards, which occurred during his rookie season when the Packers were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles 40-33.
The Packers defense struggled to slow down Chicago’s run game as D’Andre Swift rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on 14 attempts, while quarterback Caleb Williams also rushed for 70 yards on nine attempts. Williams failed to record a touchdown on the day, throwing for 231 yards on 23 attempts.
The victory marked the Packers’ 11th consecutive win over Chicago and set a record for the longest win streak for a team in the rivalry since it began back in 1921.
