NEW YORK, NY (WSAU) — The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Yankees 7-6 Wednesday night and won the World Series four games to one.
The Dodgers did it by coming back from an early 4-0 deficit scoring five runs in the fifth inning and adding two more in the 8th.
Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernandez had two RBIs each. Freeman was named Series MVP.
Dodger starter Jack Flaherty didn’t get out of the second inning giving up four runs. LA then used seven relievers including starter Walker Buehler who pitched a scoreless ninth to nail down the win.
The Yankess got home runs from Aaron Judge, Jazz Chisholm and Giancarlo Stanton. New York pitchers only gave up two earned runs but three errors and seven walks led to the Dodger win.
It’s the first LA championship since the shortened COVID-19 season of 2020 and the first in a complete season since 1988.
