WOOD COUNTY, Wis. (WAOW-WSAU) โ A motorcyclist was hit by a car and killed Saturday, according to a press release by the Wood County Sheriffโs Department.
Just before midnight on South Biron Dr. in the Township of Biron, a northbound car crossed the center line and struck the southbound motorcycle.
EMTs attempted life-saving measures for the motorcycle driver, but attempts were unsuccessful and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with an OWI for a 3rd offense and violation of bond conditions.
Investigators learned a passenger was also in the car at the time of the crash, and fled the scene on foot. That passenger was later found in the Village of Plover.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the names of those involved will not be released until Monday.
