RACINE, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — A U.S. soldier from Wisconsin who crossed the border from South to North Korea is expected to reach a plea deal in his Army court martial.
Private Travis King of Racine will reportedly plead guilty to five of 14 charges including desertion, disobeying an officer, and assaulting a noncommissioned officer.
King will likely plead not guilty to the other offenses, including possession of child pornography.
His court martial hearing is set for September 20th in Texas.
King crossed into North Korea in July of last year after he was released from a detention facility in South Korea. He was returned to American custody last September.
