GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers will be without their first-round pick this weekend after he suffered an injury during practice on Tuesday.
According to head coach Matt LaFleur, offensive guard Jordan Morgan (shoulder) will miss “probably for a week or so” after leaving practice on Tuesday and being replaced by former third-round pick Sean Rhyan for the rest of the day.
LaFleur further spoke about Morgan’s injury, saying it shouldn’t affect him “long-term” and saying he’s “competed well” during training camp and “just needs to continue to learn and improve,” as he hopes to earn the starting nod at right guard over Rhyan for the team’s week one matchup in Brazil against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Meanwhile, second-year wide receiver Jayden Reed also missed practice on Wednesday due to a calf injury that isn’t believed to be too serious, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky. The Packers do not have practice anymore this week, and Reed is expected to be a game-time decision for Saturday.
