MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — An indicted Madison attorney is off a committee which advises judges in Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court announced Tuesday that James Troupis is temporarily suspended from the Wisconsin Court System’s Judicial Conduct Advisory Committee.
Troupis, an attorney and former Dane County Circuit Court judge, is one of three people charged last week by Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul.
Troupis, Kenneth Chesebro and Michael Roman orchestrated an attempt to send “alternate” Wisconsin Republican electoral votes to Congress, despite Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss to Joe Biden here.
The job of the nine member committee is to render formal advisory opinions and give informal advice to judges and judicial officers governed by the code of judicial conduct.
