Tommy Ehrisman
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A three-day jury trial has been scheduled for a Wisconsin Rapids man accused of trying to kill a relative by smothering them with a pillow.
Court records show Tommy Ehrisman will be tried from December 10th through the 12th for one count of attempted homicide in a domestic abuse setting.
He’s accused of placing a pillow over a woman’s face as she was sleeping. Investigators say when the woman woke up, Ehrisman admitted that he planned the attack and had been having thoughts of self-harm as well. He was arrested without incident after the woman called for help.
Ehirsman had previously been deemed incompetent for trial, but that decision was reversed earlier this spring when doctors determined he could aid in his defense. The 66-year-old has pled not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect and could be sentenced to life in prison if found guilty at trial.
No further court action is scheduled ahead of the December trial.
