TOWN OF GRANT, WI (WSAU) โ Two people were injured in a motorcycle crash on Sunday evening in rural Portage County.
Sheriffโs officials say a driver and passenger were thrown from the bike on Highway WW in the Town of Grant. Investigators say the driver lost control near the shoulder and went into a field. Both the driver and passenger were thrown from the vehicle, with the 59-year-old female passenger suffering serious injuries.
She was taken from the scene by helicopter to Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. An update on her condition hasnโt been given.
The driver, a 66-year-old man from Wisconsin Rapids, was also taken to Marshfield Medical Center by ambulance.
Officers cited the driver for a first offense OWI and failure to maintain control.
Names of those involved have not been released. Neither person was wearing a helmet.
