Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers continued their winning streak against the St. Louis Cardinals this season after their 11-2 victory on Friday night.
Top prospect Robert Gasser was the star of the game, allowing no runs, no walks, and just two hits in six innings pitched. With that performance, Gasser became just the second Brewers pitcher in franchise history to ever pitch six innings with three or fewer base runners allowed in his MLB debut.
The Brewers were led offensively by William Contreras and Willy Adames, who combined for four hits, five runs scored, and two runs batted in. Christian Yelich chipped in as well with two hits, scoring twice and hitting a run as well.
Milwaukee and St. Louis will return to play on Saturday, as Freddy Peralta will take the mound for the Brewers and Kyle Gibson will start for the Cardinals, with the first pitch set for 6:15 p.m. on WSAU.
