HUDSON, WI (WSAU) — The man suspected of killing one person and injuring four others on the Apple River in St. Croix County during a stabbing incident in July of 2022 will be tried for homicide this week.

Prosecutors say the 54-year-old was the aggressor in the attack, though he has pled not guilty. Miu says he swung the knife in self-defense because the group became hostile toward him as he was looking for a lost cell phone in the water.

The victim was identified as 17-year-old Isaac Schuman of Stillwater, MN. Four other victims survived the attack, including one who is expected to testify under oath during the trial.
The trial is expected to last two weeks.
