ARBOR VITAE, WI (WSAU) — A former teacher at the Minocqua-Hazelhurst-Lake Tomahawk Elementary School will have a 12-person jury trial for two felony counts of possession of child pornography.
Lucas Aschbrenner will face a jury trial from March 19th through the 21st for two counts of possession of child pornography, a class D felony.
The 46-year-old is accused of having multiple images of child pornography linked to one of his online accounts. Police received a tip about the potential images in January of 2023, leading to a search of his home two months later.
A final motion hearing is scheduled for March 13th. Aschbrenner faces up to 50 years in prison and thousands in fines.
He’s free on a $25,000 cash bond under the condition that he remain in Oneida and Vilas Counties, though he has been given exceptions to travel to Marathon County for certain events. He is not allowed to have access to the internet, and may not have unsupervised contact with minors. He is allowed to have contact with his minor nieces as long as their parents are present.
