EAST LANSING, MI and COLUMBUS, OH (WSAU) — Both the #1 Badger men’s and women’s hockey teams lost on Friday.
For the men, it was a 4-2 loss at #11 Michigan State. Owen Lindmark and Sawyer Scholl each scored. Scholl’s tally cut the Spartan lead to 3-2 late in the game.
Wisconsin pulled goaltender Kyle McClellan with two minutes to go in the game only to surrender an empty net goal. He finished the game with 38 saves.
The same two teams will play again tonight with face-off scheduled for 5 PM CT.
The #1 Badger women were blanked by #2 Ohio State 3-0 in WCHA play, thanks to a pair of early power play goals.
Jane Gervais made 27 saves for Wisconsin. Britta Curl recorded four shots.
Jennifer Gardiner scored twice for the Buckeyes.
Today’s game between the Buckeyes and Badgers will begin at 2 PM.
