Before finalizing the 53-man roster, the Packers will place running back Lew Nichols on injured reserve. After that, they’ll release him with an injury settlement, according to Bill Huber of SI.com. Nichols was a seventh-round pick out of Central Michigan and had been battling a shoulder injury for the majority of training camp.
Former 1st-round pick Eric Stokes will begin the season on the PUP list which means he will miss the team’s first four games. Stokes remains in the process of recovering from both foot and leg injuries that suffered last season.
Long-snapper Matt Orzech is expected to be resigned from the practice squad.
The Packers have until 3 PM CST to officially have their roster down to 53 players.
