WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A new rooftop dining experience opens today in Wausau.
The Velveteen Plum will hold its grand opening tonight. The facility is located on the roof of the new @bantr’s apartment complex on Elm Street. The restaurant offers both an indoor and outdoor seating area with views of Rib Mountain.
According to the restaurant’s website, they do not allow carry-ins, pets, or smoking on the patio. Service animals are welcome. Additionally, they do not allow children in the seating area after 5 PM, a move that will allow them to “maintain an environment where adults can relax and enjoy great views, cocktails, and atmosphere – away from the kids.”
The menu features fish, specialty burgers, and pork along with a variety of drinks.
Those planning to take in the rooftop views are encouraged to use 12th Avenue and Elm Street to avoid construction on S 17th Avenue.
The restaurant held a soft opening on Thursday for followers of its Instagram page. They’ll be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, with the bar open late on Fridays and Saturdays. Saturday and Sunday will also include a brunch menu
