WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Crews are working to remove a body found in the Wisconsin River.
According to a press release from Wausau Police Captain Ben Graham a body has been reported in the Wisconsin River. The call about the body came in at 1:11 p.m. from a Wisconsin Public Service Corp employee.
The body was seen near the Wausau Hydro Dam on S. 1st Avenue by the employee. Crews have been dispatched to the scene to recover the body from the water near the refuse collection area of the dam. The individual is deceased.
No further information is being provided at this time as the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
