WISCONSIN (WTAQ-WLUK) — A woman accused of multiple fraudulent crimes committed across Wisconsin was arrested in Massachusetts.
Kimberly Maine, 51, was taken into custody on Wednesday by Blackstone Police on fraud charges.
It was in November when Wisconsin authorities issued a statewide alert on Maine’s alleged illegal activity.
According to authorities, she was spotted at several Manitowoc County banks, trying to cash fraudulent checks.
Before this, Maine was confirmed to be in Lake Hallie, near Chippewa Falls, on Oct. 1 where she is accused of breaking into several vehicles and taking ID’s, check books and credit and debit cards.
Investigators believe she used some of these stolen items in Ashwaubenon, Bellevue, Manitowoc, Plymouth, Sheboygan, Beaver Dam, West Bend and Howards Grove from September through November.
Maine operated different vehicles with stolen license plates from multiple states, along with wearing different colored wigs and eye contacts. She was known to drive a red 2020 Chevrolet Equinox in September and a silver one in October and November.
When she was arrested by Maine authorities, she had several stolen ID’s from numerous states in her possession.
Officials say if you know and/or believe Kimberly Maine is a suspect of any fraud, theft, etc. in your jurisdiction or financial institution:
- Please report it (if not completed already) to your local law enforcement along with any video/evidence you may have to positively identify Maine as the suspect.
- Law Enforcement agencies with pending/referred charges on Maine, please forward a copy of the complete report to FBI Agent Rob McGuire (rmcguire@fbi.gov).
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office says they expect federal wire fraud and identity fraud charges to be filed on Feb. 14.
