TOMAHAWK, WI (WSAU) — Officials with the School District of Tomahawk are working with local law enforcement to investigate an incident from earlier this week involving a bus driver.
Officers say it involved a driver who became frustrated with the behavior of the students during an evening route. The driver returned to the bus barn without dropping off the students, and a different driver was called in to handle the route.
Some students were allowed to be picked up by their parents. The driver has since been removed from all other Tomahawk School routes.
School officials have released a statement saying the original driver is cooperating with the investigation and has not been ticketed or charged with any violations. No arrests have been made.
Officials add that the safety and security of their students in all situations remain at the forefront, and they hope that the incident does not tarnish the reputation of the other bus drivers for the Tomahawk Bus Company.
