WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Organizers of the Central Wisconsin-Based Never Forgotten Honor Flight have announced that 108 Korean and Vietnam Veterans will take part in the group’s 40th trip to Washington, DC.
The roster for Monday’s trip includes seven Korean-era Vets, the remainder served during Vietnam. The flight will depart the Central Wisconsin Airport at 6:30 AM and is scheduled to return at 10 PM.
While in Washington the group will tour the memorials dedicated to their service.
It’s the second NFHF trip of 2022 after trips were canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Once the round-trip is complete the Never Forgotten Honor Flight will have taken over 3,700 Veterans from a 13-county area to Washington to see the memorials. All Honor Flights are free for Veterans, while the guardians who assist them pay $500 to accompany the trip.
Those who served during the wars are encouraged to sign up for a future Honor Flight by visiting www.neverforgottenhonorflight.com or by calling 715-573-8519.
