NEKOOSA, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Residents continue to voice their opposition to a proposed solar farm in the town of Rome, located in rural Adams County.
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin held a public hearing session on Wednesday, at the Nekoosa Community Center, despite the town of Rome’s request to host the meeting at their own town hall.
A handful of speakers expressed concerns about the proposed project, which plans to install solar panels across thousands of acres and include a battery energy storage system.
The Public Service Commission has already approved similar projects in the town of Saratoga in Wood County and in the towns of Grant and Plover in Portage County.
The commission will hold a party hearing on December 10, which will be livestreamed online.
