SHAWANO, WI (WSAU) — The man suspected of killing another man during a dispute over hunting land has been identified.
Brent Hofman is accused of killing the unidentified 67-year-old on Wednesday. He’s then accused of threatening another person, who locked themselves in a separate building and called for help.
The 74-year-old Hofman was arrested at the scene. He’s now facing charges for intentional homicide, going armed while intoxicated, and recklessly endangering safety.
Hofman sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident and was treated at a local hospital before he was booked into the Shawano County Jail.
No further information has been released, though officers say it was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. Court action against Hofman is pending.
