MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Despite losing to the St Louis Cardinals on Sunday, the Milwaukee Brewers are Central Division Champions for the 3rd straight year. The Cubs loss on Sunday clinched the title for Milwaukee and guaranteed the Brewers a first round bye in the playoffs.
The Cardinals beat Milwaukee 5-1 on Sunday at American Family Field.
Robert Gasser started and took the loss. Jackson Chourio drove in the only Milwaukee run.
The Brewers begin the final week of the regular season in San Diego for a three game series beginning tonight…pre game show at 8:05 on WSAU.
The Brewers also announced playoff tickets will go on sale Tuesday at 10am.
And Milwaukee suffered a major blow to their pitching staff as they had to place Brandon Woodruff on the injured list with a lat strain. The injury may end his season.
