WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau residents have a chance to clean out their garage, basement, or crawlspace this weekend.
The latest Clean it up, Wausau! large item drop-off is Friday and Saturday, offering residents the chance to get rid of household items that don’t fit in a residential garbage container.
Items that will be accepted for free include bathtubs, furniture, construction materials, and large toys. Items accepted for free with conditions include small engines (drained of all fuel and oil), outdoor grills (minus the propane tank), and kitchen appliances, provided they do not contain freon.
Some items will require a fee, including electronics, tires, and appliances that contain freon. For more information on these fees, please visit this link.
Items will be accepted on Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Proof of Wausau residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, will be required before you can drop your items off.
The event is held at the Yard Waste Site at 105 E Chelis Street and often draws a line of vehicles and trailers backed up to nearby Cleveland Avenue.
