MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers dropped their matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies 10-8 on Monday at American Family Field.
The Brewers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings. Brice Turang led off the game with a home run and Blake Perkins drove in two in the first inning. Caleb Durbin hit a solo shot in the 2nd.
The Phillies rallied with one in the fourth, two in the 5th and three in the 6th to take a 6-5 lead. The Brewers tied it in the 6th with an unearned run. Philadelphia responded with two runs in the 8th but the Brewers promptly tied it up in their half of the inning on a two-run single from Issac Collins. But Abner Uribe couldnt hold the Phillies down as he gave up two runs in the 9th. He took the loss.
The Brewers used seven pitchers in the game and gave up 14 hits. All ten runs were earned.
Milwaukee falls to 85-54 and with a Cubs win, now lead Chicago by 5.5 games in the Central Division
They have a rare, mid-series day off and will face the Phillies again on Wednesday.
