CINCINNATI, OHIO (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers rallied for the second straight day but this time the Cincinnati Reds prevailed 3-2 in 10 innings on Sunday at Great American Ballpark. The setback ends the Brewers franchise record winning streak at 14 games.
The Reds were up 1-0 before William Contreras hit a two-run homer in the 9th inning to give the Brewers the lead. Cincinnati tied the game with an unearned run in the 9th and won it in the 10th with a bases loaded, one out single.
Grant Anderson took the loss. Jose Quintana started and gave up one run over 6 1/3 innings of work. He struck out four and walked one.
The Brewers, now 78-45, are in Chicago now facing a big five game series with the Cubs. They are eight games up on the Cubs and the series begins with a day-night doubleheader today. Pre game shows at 12:45 and 6:30 on WSAU.
