SHAWANO, WI (WSAU) — Governor Tony Evers has signed a contract for $1.7 million in repairs on Wisconsin 29 in Shawano County, just in time to impact traffic heading east into Green Bay on Sundays.
Beginning August 11th, crews will grade and improve drainage, install a heavy erosion berm, and regrade slopes at the west abutment to the Wolf River, as well as repair or replace concrete pavement as needed. Work will focus on an area from the Wisconsin 22 intersection east to the Wolf River.
Additionally, the westbound exit ramp onto Wisconsin 22 will be closed during the project. Traffic on westbound 29 wanting to proceed onto WIS 22 will be redirected onto WIS 55 north to WIS 22.
Traffic will be shifted to the eastbound lanes, with one lane going in each direction. Work is expected to be completed by late October, weather permitting.
