UPDATE (WSAU) – The Portage County Sheriff’s Department has identified the man who was killed in a UTV crash on Monday in New Hope.
He is Robert Helback, 82, of Lanark.
He died after crashing into a dump truck that was parked at Highway ZZ and Rainbows End Road.
Helback died at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.

TOWN OF NEW HOPE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – An 82-year-old man from the Town of Lanark died in a crash involving a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) and a dump truck on Monday.
The accident occurred near the intersection of County Trunk Highway ZZ and Rainbows End Road.
The Portage County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 8:44am There were no other injuries.
The victim’s name has not been released.
Assistance was provided by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Portage County Ambulance, and Amherst Fire Department.
The investigation is ongoing.
