ST GERMAIN, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – There was a fatal crash on Monday night in Vilas County.
A truck collided with a tree on State Highway 155 near Sixteen Road. The call was received by Vilas County Dispatch around 9:30pm.
Upon arrival, a deputy found the male driver breathing but not alert. St. Germain Fire/Rescue & Ambulance responded promptly, performing life-saving measures en route to Aspirus Howard Young. Despite their efforts, the driver was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, along with St. Germain Fire/Rescue & Ambulance, managed the scene.
