TOWN OF WASHINGTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) A tragic incident unfolded on Monday morning, when a motorist struck a pedestrian on County Road HH near Parkwood Drive. Shawano County Dispatch received the 911 call around 4:15am.
Deputies found a 32-year-old man from the Shawano area unresponsive in the ditch. Despite CPR efforts by deputies and EMS, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 38-year-old man from Keshena, was cooperative with law enforcement. He was returning home from work in Green Bay when the incident occurred in the northbound lane.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, along with Shawano Ambulance, Bonduel EMS, Cecil-Washington Fire Department, and the Shawano County Coroner’s Office, are involved in the ongoing investigation.
No names have been released.
