(WTAQ-WLUK) — The office of Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin confirms Baldwin’s name is on the Minnesota shooting suspect’s reported list of names.
About 70 names were found on a list that was recovered from the fake police vehicle suspect Vance Boelter allegedly used to get to the home of Minnesota Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman.
Prosecutors say Boelter shot Hortman at her husband Mark early Saturday morning.
The names included Minnesota state and federal lawmakers, community leaders, along with abortion rights advocates and information about health care facilities, according to the officials.
Boelter is also accused of shooting and injuring Democratic Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette.
Eli Rosen, spokesperson for Sen. Baldwin, released this statement:
Senator Baldwin was informed by law enforcement that she was included on the alleged shooter’s list of names. She is grateful for law enforcement’s swift action to keep the community safe and remains focused on the things that matter most here: honoring the legacy and life of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, praying for the other victims who are fighting for their lives, and condemning this abhorrent, senseless political violence.
Boelter was taken into custody on Sunday night after surrendering to police near his home in Green Isle after two days on the run.
