MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) The Brewers held off a late Cardinals scoring chance for a 3-2 win on Sunday.
Nolan Arenado singled on the 12th pitch of his lead-off at-bat. Nolan Gorman followed with a bunt single. Both runners moved up to second and third on a wild pitch, but Trevor Megill escaped by striking out the final two batters of the game.
Christian Yelich homered for the Brewers, who took three-out-of-four from their division rivals.
Quinn Priester recorded his 5th win of the season.
The Brewers are off Monday. They’ll visit the Chicago Cubs for a three game series starting on Tuesday night.
The Cardinals have lost 7 of their last 8 games.
