Melanie Scrofano in Syfy's "Revival"
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A ten-episode mini-series based in Wausau will debut on the Syfy Network Thursday.
Revival is based on the graphic novels of the same name and was written by Tim Seeley, who graduated from D.C. Everest in the 1990s.
The series follows a law enforcement officer dealing with a zombie infestation that has shut down Wausau.
“The fun hook of it is that it’s a murder mystery, where the victim is alive and going to help solve the mystery,” said Creator Luke Boyce told WAOW TV.
Filming took place in New Brunswick, Canada. Melanie Scrofano stars as Officer Dana Cypress, with David James Elliott playing her father, Wayne Cypress. WWE Superstar CM Punk will also appear.
Seeley’s work also includes G.I. Joe and Batman. He also created the New York Times bestselling series HACK/SLASH.
Thursday’s episode premieres at 9 PM with new episodes dropping each Thursday through August 14th. Episodes will also be available on NBC Universal’s streaming service, Peacock, beginning June 19th.
