GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers have released Cornerback Jaire Alexander.
“In his seven seasons with the Packers, Jaire established himself as one of the premier players in the NFL at one of the game’s most challenging positions,” said General Manager Brian Gutekunst in a press release. “His contributions to our organization were felt on the field, in the locker room, and in our community, and he will be missed. We appreciate all he gave and we wish him all the best moving forward.”
NFL Network, The Associated Press, and other sources reported the move earlier today, which frees up $17 million against the 2025 salary cap.
Alexander has spent his entire seven-year career in Green Bay, though he has played in more than seven games just four times. Injuries limited him to just four games in 2021 and seven games in the last two seasons (2023 and ’24).
His career numbers include 12 interceptions, nearly half of which (five) came in 2022, 241 solo tackles, and 4 fumble recoveries. He was named to the 2020 and ’22 Pro Bowl Games.
Green Bay made Alexander the 18th overall pick in the 2018 Draft out of Louisville.
