PHILADELPHIA, PA (WSAU) — Christian Yelich smacked two homers, including a three-run shot in the 5th inning, as Milwaukee defeated Philadelphia 6-2 on Friday.
Yelich finished 3-5 with 4 RBI, adding a solo homer in the 9th off Carlos Hernandez. William Contreras also added three hits in the win.
Jackson Chourio was 2-3 with two runs scored. Sal Frelick added two hits and an RBI.
DL Hall pitched three solid innings to open the game, allowing just one walk and striking out four. Quinn Priester went the next six, allowing four hits and two earned runs. He was credited with the win, lifting his record to 2-2.
Game two of the three-game set is this afternoon. Pregame coverage will begin at 2:30 on WSAU, with first pitch at 3:05.
