BARABOO, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau woman was arrested on suspicion of her 7th OWI following a traffic stop on Interstate 90/94 in Sauk County.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, it started with a report of an SUV that was driving erratically near mile marker 92. Officers immediately noticed signs of impairment, and the driver, identified as 28-year-old Tyquaniesha Bell, failed a field sobriety test.
Two children were also in the vehicle at the time of the arrest. They were taken and released to a responsible party.
Court records show Bell’s previous OWI convictions include a third offense in Dane County in 2022. Her record also includes numerous citations or convictions for operating with a revoked license, tampering with an ignition interlock device, and possession of THC.
Court action against her is pending. A 7th offense OWI is a Class F felony, meaning she will face a minimum of three years in prison and $25,000 in fines, though she will face additional penalties because there were children in the vehicle.
