ALGOMA, WIS. — Coming up on the eighth year since the Kewaunee County Wisconsin Farm Technology Days took place, the Executive Committee proudly announces the seventh group of students receiving funds from the Second Half Scholarship Fund.
The scholarships are awarded to any student beyond the first half of post-secondary education, in their 3rd or 4th year of college, the second year of a two-year program, or in the second half of a post-secondary program. Those awarded were to have graduated from high schools, including Algoma, Denmark, Kewaunee, Luxemburg-Casco, Mishicot, and Southern Door.
Students needed to meet specific requirements to apply, including whether they or someone from their immediate family had been involved in Kewaunee County Farm Technology Days 2017 as a sponsor, volunteer, or vendor. They also needed to have at least a 2.5 GPA and be currently enrolled in a post-secondary education school or technical study.
Those awarded include:
Algoma – Emily Kirchman, a graduate of Algoma High School, attending Bellin College majoring in Radiological Sciences.
Denmark –
Gwen Albers, a graduate of Denmark High School, attending the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and double majoring in International Business and Marketing Analysis, with certificates in Economics of Global Issues Certificate, East Asian Studies and Chinese.
Kewaunee –
Brittany Steinhorst, a graduate of Kewaunee High School, attending Bellin College, majoring in surgical assisting.
Luxemburg-Casco –
Sami Treml, a graduate of Luxemburg-Casco High School, attending Concordia University Wisconsin, majoring in Social Work.
Southern Door –
Chloe LaCrosse, a graduate of Southern Door High School, attending the University of Wisconsin – Madison, majoring in Dairy Science.
Luke Olson, a graduate of Southern Door High School, attending the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, majoring in Statistics.
A total of $6,000 was awarded in 2025, and a total of $60,000 will be awarded over a 10-year period
