MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Kickoff times and TV assignments for the first three weeks of the college football season have been announced by the networks.
Wisconsin will open the season against Miami University of Ohio on Thursday, August 28th at 8 PM with TV coverage on the Big Ten Network. It’s the second consecutive year that Wisconsin will open the season with a night game against a Mid-American Conference foe. Last year, the Badgers defeated Western Michigan 28-14.
Week Two features a visit from Middle Tennessee State on Saturday, September 6th at 3:00 PM on FS1. Then, in Week three, it’s a high-profile road trip to Alabama to face the Crimson Tide on September 13th. That game is slated for an 11 AM kickoff and will be broadcast by either ESPN or ABC as part of their partnership with the Southeastern Conference.
The remainder of Wisconsin’s games will be scheduled one to two weeks in advance in consultation with FOX, CBS, and NBC through their media rights partnership with the Big Ten Conference.
All Wisconsin football games, regardless of TV assignments, will be heard on WSAU with pregame coverage beginning two hours before kickoff.
Wisconsin has also reportedly landed a men’s basketball exhibition contest against Oklahoma at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. According to beat writer Jesse Temple, that game will be Friday, October 24th.
The game will not count towards regular-season records or standings and falls outside the season’s traditional early November start date. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.
