PITTSBURGH, PA (WSAU) — For the second time this week, the Milwaukee Brewers dropped a game in extra innings, falling 6-5 to Pittsburgh.
Oneil Cruz homered twice for the Pirates, including a game-tying shot in the 9th that sent the game to extras. That came just after William Contreras homered to give Milwaukee a 5-4 lead in the visitors’ half of the frame.
A wild pitch from Abner Uribe in the 10th allowed the winning run to score.
Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich, and Rhys Hoskins each had two hits in the loss. Contreras’ homer was the only extra-base hit of the night for the Crew.
Freddy Peralta went 4.1 innings and allowed five hits and two earned runs. He did not factor in the decision.
Uribe was charged with the loss and a blown save.
Game three of the series is this afternoon with pregame coverage starting at 2:30 on WSAU.
