MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Twins starter Joe Ryan went six innings and allowed just two hits and one walk as the Minnesota Twins beat the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0 to open MLB’s first-ever Rivalry Weekend.
William Contreras led the Brewer offense with two hits including a double, Milwaukee’s only extra-base hit of the game. Brice Turang added a single.
Starting Pitcher Chad Patrick scattered eight hits and gave up three runs over six innings.
Minnesota scored all three runs in the first two innings. It’s the 12th consecutive win for the Twins. Despite the hot streak, they’re still five games behind the Detroit Tigers for first place in the AL Central.
Milwaukee is now 21-24. The same two teams will play again tonight, pregame coverage begins at 5:40 on WSAU.
