
TAMPA, FLA (WSAU) — The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday and Saturday before Milwaukee salvaged the third game of the series on Sunday in Florida.
Friday Taylor Walls drew a bases loaded walk in the 8th inning which proved to be the game winner in a 4-3 Rays win. Jared Koenig took the loss for the Brewers. Milwaukee Manager Pat Murphy was ejected from the game for hotly disputing an obstruction call that gave the Rays a run in the 6th inning. William Contreras, Caleb Durbin and Rhys Hoskins had the Brewers RBIs.
Saturday the Rays pulled out another tight one as they scored a run in the 9th inning for a 3-2 victory. The Brewers left the bases loaded in their half of the ninth before Travis Jankowski walked it off for the Rays with a single in their half of the inning. Milwaukee’s runs came on home runs from Jackson Chourio and Joey Ortiz. Grant Anderson took the loss.
The Brewers bounced back for a 4-2 win on Sunday with Contreras and Christian Yelich hitting home runs. Hoskins and Durbin had RBIs as well. Tyler Alexander picked up the win in relief.
The Brewers, now20-21, will play at Cleveland tonight…pre game show 4:35 on WSAU.
