WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW)—The Grand Theater will host an open house this Tuesday to introduce its new Second Century campaign. The event will run from 5 to 7 pm., with a formal program at 6 pm.
The $17 million project will help upgrade and enhance the theater as it enters its second century of existence.
It’s a beautiful theater, but it’s time to enhance it and make a richer experience. It’s going to address all the things that we need to help continue to bring the types of artists and shows that we love bringing to North Central Wisconsin. It’s going to address a lot of infrastructure. It’s just the reality of a 100 year old building and 25 years since Arts Block,” said Sean Wright, executive director of the Grand Theater.
At the event, you’ll be able to:
- Explore renovation stations detailing the exciting upgrades planned for various areas of The Grand.
- View video clips illustrating the emotional connection to the theater and the urgent need for this transformation.
- Receive comprehensive information about the campaign’s progress, general timeline, and goals.
- Learn about ways the community can participate, including the “Name a Seat” program.
