WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man accused of attempted homicide and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon will face a jury trial this summer.
Todd Tucker was scheduled for a week-long trial from July 28th through August 1st. He’s accused of pointing a gun at a woman in Marathon Park in late 2023.
The woman said she was going to the park to conduct a transaction facilitated through Facebook Marketplace. When she went to meet the buyer, she was confronted by a group of people, including Tucker. She stayed in her vehicle, but members of the group began pounding on her windows and demanding she get out.
One person allegedly told her she would “get beat.” The woman said Tucker pointed a gun at her during the confrontation.
The most serious charge against Tucker, attempted homicide, carries a mandatory life sentence with only the possibility of parole to be discussed. He also faces an assortment of felony counts, including criminal damage to property, resisting or obstructing an officer, and intentionally pointing a firearm at a person.
A jury status hearing has been scheduled for July 14th ahead of the trial. Tucker remains in jail on a $500,000 bond.
