(WTAQ-WLUK) — The man accused of abducting a pregnant teenager from Beaver Dam has been extradited to Wisconsin after his arrest in Nebraska earlier this month.
Gary Day, 40, is charged in Dodge County with child abduction and child enticement. According to WMTV, Wisconsin officials took custody of Day Wednesday morning.
Nebraska officials confirmed to WMTV they dismissed the misdemeanor charges Day faced in Nebraska, as well as an Arkansas state extradition complaint, to speed up Day’s extradition to Wisconsin.
On April 2, Sophia Franklin was found at a truck stop near Omaha in the company of Day, the father of her unborn child. Franklin, now 17, had been missing for two months and was the subject of an Amber Alert. She has since been reunited with her family.
Authorities have said Day and Franklin met online and there was a no contact order in place between the two. Police reported Day had changed his appearance by growing a beard and mustache.
