PHOENIX, AZ (WSAU) โ After winning 7-0 on Friday the Milwaukee Brewers dropped both weekend matchups with the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix.
Saturday, the Brewers wasted another good outing from rookie Chad Patrick as the bullpen melted down late in a 5-4 loss. The Diamondbacks scored all five runs in the 9th inning. Joel Payamps and Trevor Megill gave up the five runs with Megill charged with the loss. Patrick went 4 1/3 scoreless innings. Jackson Chourio hit his fifth home run of the seson.
It was more of the same on Sunday as the Brewers couldnt hold a 2-0 lead. William Contreras had a two-run homer in the first inning but the Peralta gave up two runs over 5 1/3 innings with relievers Bryan Hudson and Grant Anderson giving up the other three.
The Brewers fall to 8-8 and they are right back in action tonight as the Detroit Tigers come to American Family Field. Pre-game show at 6:05 on WSAU.
