PHOENIX, AZ (WSAU) — Productive outs and manufactured runs lifted the Brewers to a 7-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Brice Turang went 3-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. That included a base hit in the 9th that scored Joey Ortiz and Garrett Mitchell.
Turang scored later in the inning on a base hit from William Contreras, who finished 1-4 with a sac fly and two RBI.
Ortiz added two hits. Jose Quintana went seven innings and allowed just four hits to earn the win on the mound.
Jared Koenig and Trevor Megill preserved the shutout in the 8th and 9th, combining to allow just one walk and striking out three.
Despite going 0-4, Christian Yelich finished the game with two RBI thanks to a pair of run-scoring groundouts. Arizona finished the game with four base hits and went 0-3 with runners in scoring position.
