MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) โ A 26-year-old woman who was found guilty and sentenced to prison time in a deadly child neglect case is now accused of leading police on a high-speed chase through Kronenwetter.
Amber Boyd is accused of failing to pull over as police tried to initiate a traffic stop near Nelson Road on Saturday. Boyd allegedly sped off, leading police on a chase through a residential neighborhood to Old Highway 51. The chase reached speeds of 110 MPH when officers terminated the case.
Officers say Boyd had been swerving from the center line to the shoulder when they tried to pull her over.
Her vehicle was found abandoned in a residential driveway on Sunday. She turned herself in to authorities shortly after an arrest warrant was issued.
Boyd faces a felony count for fleeing or eluding an officer, which carries a maximum penalty of 6 years in prison and $10,000 in fines. She returns to court for hearings on April 4th and 9th.
The 26-year-old previously served prison time as part of a plea deal for child neglect for her role in her sonโs death. She is currently on extended supervision as part of that sentence, meaning the felony count carries a repeat modifier and could lead to more prison time.
