Wausau, WI (WSAU-WAOW)– The Waushara County Sheriff’s Office is leading an investigation after skeletal human remains were discovered.
On Thursday evening, March 13th, the Waushara County Sherriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a complaint of skeletal human remains being located in the area of County Road EE between Blackhawk Avenue and 26th Court in the town of Leon.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Wisconsin Crime Laboratory, and the Waushara County Medical Examiner’s Office, are all helping with the investigation to identify the individual.
At this time no further information has been released and the investigation is ongoing.
