GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Packers and former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs have agreed to a four-year deal as the team looks to add veteran depth to their secondary.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Packers and Hobbs deal will be worth $48 million total and will include $16 million guaranteed at signing.
Hobbs, 25, was ranked as the 28th-best cornerback in the NFL by PFF ahead of the 2023 season after being drafted in the 5th round by the Raiders in the 2021 NFL Draft. He didn’t have his best season this past season, recording just one interception in 554 snaps and receiving a PFF grade of 61.4, which ranked 110th among cornerbacks. However, Hobbs scored an 81.6 as a run defender which was 6th best among corners, and was ranked 12th in pass rush snaps with 23.
The Packers needed another solid veteran cornerback as Jaire Alexander’s future with the franchise continues to be in question, and former first-round pick Eric Stokes is likely to sign elsewhere this offseason as an unrestricted free agent.
