CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI (WSAU) — Aspirus Health has closed a deal to purchase 22.1 acres of land in Chippewa Falls for what will become a new hospital.
The move clears the way for construction to begin this spring. Aspirus calls the move “a significant step toward helping close health care gaps in the region.”
Should construction stay on track, the hospital could open to patients in 18 months. Initial offerings will include primary care and emergency services, basic imaging, and labs. Additional service offerings would be added as needed once the facility is open.
The hospital will be located on Chippewa Crossing Bvld near Fire Station 1. Construction plans will also include new roads to allow better access to the hospital campus.
“This project aligns with our mission to provide much-needed health care services to the community,” said Sid Sczygelski, Senior Vice President of Special Projects for Aspirus Health. “We believe our experience in rural and small-city health care will enable us to serve the people of Chippewa Falls and the surrounding area with excellence and compassion.”
Terms of the purchase, including the price, were not disclosed.
