MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers are out of the running for one of the nation’s top 2027 prospects.
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, five-star quarterback Trae Taylor has listed his top five schools, including Michigan, Illinois, LSU, Nebraska, and Texas A&M, and will announce his commitment on June 6th after the Badgers made him an offer on January 10th and invited him to visit Madison this upcoming season.
The Illinois native is currently listed as the 4th overall quarterback in On3’s 2027 recruiting rankings and is favored to commit to Michigan.
Wisconsin is yet to land a 2026 or 2027 commit, but with 2024 four-star transfer Carter Smith on the roster, the Badgers believe they may already have their quarterback of the future in place.
